Lutheran church in Bacharach Germany

It was Sunday afternoon. I believe they had a service that morning. I have never seen ropes attaching lights to the ceiling.

Saint Chapelle a final look

The pictures I did not take were the ones of people when they first came into the room and saw the stained glass windows. Mouths dropped open as their heads tilted up and their eyes gazed at the little squares of color lighting up the room!

Saint Chapelle continues

The glass tells Bible History.

More of Saint Chapelle

When I first saw pictures of this chapel in slides from Art History class in college, I knew this would be a place I would want to visit.
So glad I had my small binoculars with me to bring the view up close.

Saint Chapelle

This small chapel was built by King Louis to house Jesus' crown of thorns. The relic is rarely on display but this chapel is known for its stained glass.
You can see it is undergoing renovation and it shares the site with a government court like our Supreme Court.
