Final Aachen cathedral photos

Such a beautiful place! Entrance that greets you.
All the gold catches the light!
All the symbols of Christian worship. And the elevated pulpit draws your attention to the Word lifted up.
One last parting shot before returning to the train station.

Aachen Cathedral interiors

Two Baptismal fonts in this beautiful cathedral.
One ornate with a cover.

And the other rough hewn.
Tough decision as to which one aesthetically I prefer. What matters is God's Word connected with the water in the sacrament.
I think the plaque is a wonderful piece of art sculpted out of stone. Might even be slate as I will see soon along the Rhine.
So much stained glass. I love it!
And all the mosaics in gold and blue. Makes me think of heaven.

Interiors in Aachen Cathedral

Beautiful, right?
Everywhere you look!
Gold. Colorful glass.
A magnificent place to be!
Your eyes are drawn up. Eyes off this world.
Wow!
Nothing plain but all to point to The Lord!
Arches. Vaulted ceilings. Corinthian capitals. So many fine architectural details!

Chapel in hotel

The history behind this Marriott in Lille, France. It belonged to the Catholic Church and nuns lived here and cared for the sick and infirm.

High ceilings. There is also stained glass.

Here is one of the entrances.

The nuns worshipped here on these wood pews.

The beautiful altar. Today people can have their wedding here.

First open in 1450, they have a small museum with a photo showing people in the infirmary.
